Personal AI Cognitive Substrate
An operating system for cognitive work, with a memory that consolidates the way the mind does.
Overview
A long-running personal cognitive agent, built to hold context across months, reason across many projects at once, and act as an operating system for cognitive work rather than a chat assistant. Its memory is neurally inspired. It consolidates, reinforces, and prunes much the way human memory does, drawing directly on my own research into cognition. It takes in material from many kinds of sources, and improves itself while it runs.
Approach
A neurally grounded knowledge base sits at the center, with a consolidation process that decides, on its own schedule, what is worth keeping. Around it, multiple models are routed by task and sensitivity, a deliberation layer cross-checks the system’s own reasoning, and an always-on maintenance layer watches for drift and repairs both the agent and its memory while it runs.
Scope
An ongoing, sprint-disciplined build with a fully enumerated capability ledger and a documented decision behind every architectural choice. It is where my research on cognition meets system-building, all of it engineered, governed, and self-maintaining.
